Supporting Chicago Designers

I'm a huge supporter of Chicago artists, but this lady especially needs our love.

Last week, Chicago jewlery designer tru.che was informed that Urban Outfitters "borrowed" a line of her necklaces and is now selling it at their stores. They even stole the item name and some of her copy!!! How awful!

The silver lining is that she's recieved so much support and so many orders that it's taking her a bit longer to create and ship items. No matter! Here are some of my favs:
Photos and designs by tru.che (NOT Urban Outfitters!)

Be sure to stop by tru.che and check out more of her awesome creations.

  1. What?! How to they just 'borrow' something. Damn hipsters at U.O. Annoying. I love this stuff though, so thanks for linking it to the post!

  2. Wow- I can't believe Urban Outfitters did that! What a great way to lose customers!!! I've seen these fabulous necklaces on etsy before, and I think they're all so adorable!

  4. I'm so glad you posted this! I debated about it but was afraid I would come off too negative :) I fell for Tru.che at Renegade Handmade last year & ending up getting the TN necklace for Christmas. I absolutley adore it & know it will be one of my favorite pieces for years to come. It broke my heart to hear about UO blatantly ripping her off like that. I knew they were guilty of it in the past but honestly this was the last straw for me. I hope you all get an original tru.che, no matter how long it takes! :)
